Volunteering at Lambs Farm can be a rewarding experience for individuals, families, corporate groups and community organizations. We have opportunities that can accommodate daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or seasonal schedules.
Volunteering allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. No matter how you help, even the smallest tasks can make a real difference in the lives of people, animals and the organizations that speak to your heart. Volunteer application and background checks are required to volunteer in our campus businesses and services.
Ongoing Individual and Special Project Opportunities:
Animal Care
Come assist our team of dedicated animal keepers in the daily care of our Farmyard friends! We are a USDA licensed children’s zoo that upholds high animal welfare standards. We house domestic hoofstock, land and waterfowl, small mammals, exotic birds, reptiles and more! The majority of our animals are rescued, retired, in the process of being rehabilitated, are geratic, have special needs or were surrendered to us. Help us maintain clean enclosures, appropriate feed and water, and more – all while spending quality time with our animals! This position is perfect for persons who would like to expand their animal care resume or are thinking of going into an animal related field. Volunteers must be 16 years or older, able to lift 50lbs, stand for long periods of time, and work in all weather.
Art Studio
We are looking for volunteers with an art background, ideally, art instructors or art therapists, to help in the art studio with our participants. Volunteers must be 21 years or older.
Cedar Chest Thrift Shop
Help sort, tag and place items in our charming shop. Flexible hours and days. Must be 18 years or older.
Dogwood Garden & Pet Center
Help with general tasks at Pet Shop, as well as walking, socializing, bathing rescue puppies. Must be 18 years or older.
General Landscaping
Tend to the gardens, flowers, and plants at Lambs Farm. Must be 18 years or older.
Health Services
Our Health Services department is looking for someone to help with clerical work 1-2 days a week between the hours of 9am and 5pm. Duties include filing and data entry. Must be 18 years or older.
IT Help Desk Volunteer
Provide support and technical assistance to Lambs Farm employees and residents using software, hardware, or other computer systems and devices who need help completing tasks or troubleshooting problems.
Magnolia Cafe & Bakery
Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 3pm to help with as a greeter, server or busser.
Maintenance
Help with general cleaning duties at our residences. Must be 18 years or older.
Recreation/Special Olympics
We’re looking patient, enthusiastic and caring individuals to help our participants in our recreation program. Physical education or special education instructors are encouraged to explore this opportunity. You will work with our teams during practice and at competition. Must be 21 years or older.
Sugar Maple Country Store & Bakery
Help staff and participant bakers make homemade cookies and chocolates.
Group Projects
Lambs Farm is pleased to welcome groups of all sizes to help with ongoing needs including maintenance, landscaping, painting and specialized projects. Volunteer opportunities can be customized to meet your group’s needs, abilities and availability.
