In 1961, Bob Terese and Corrine Owen opened a pet shop on State Street in Chicago. While it resembled many small businesses, it stood out for one significant reason: the 12 employees had developmental disabilities.
A few years later, seeking to broaden their impact, Bob and Corrine relocated to a 70-acre former dairy farm near Libertyville, IL. This move allowed them to expand their program and create more opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to thrive.
Today, Lambs Farm is a vibrant community where adults with disabilities work toward their aspirations and lead fulfilling lives. One of the key establishments is the Sugar Maple Country Store & Bakery, where participants can learn new skills, dream ambitiously, and receive valuable job training, including the preparation of this gift made just for you.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to WJE for supporting our mission. Your generosity means the world to us.
With love,
The participant bakers of Lambs Farm
